From 1964 – 1975 KFMB-AM was a leading full-service radio station mixing music, news and sports with various personalities including such notables as Charlie & Harrigan, Perry Allen and Geoff Edwards.

From 1975 – 1997 HUDSON & BAUER (Mac Hudson & Joe Bauer) hosted morning drive, producing strong ratings up until Mac Hudson passed away in 1997. The humor-based show featured conversational discussion of local and national stories often presented through various character voices including Mother L. Butterbreast, Zack L. Murray, Colonel Kufmub, etc. In 1980 the show added controversial KFMB-TV sports anchor Ted Leitner. Leitner’s popular 7:15am, 8:15am & 9:15am segments were considered “must listen” radio.

Other on-air personalities during this period included Clark Anthony, Geni Cavitt, Stacy Taylor, Mark Larson, Bill Balance, and Dave Sniff.

From 1978-1999 KFMB-AM was the flagship station for the San Diego Padres. Jerry Coleman, Dave Campbell, Ted Leitner, Bob Chandler and Rick Monday were the play-by-play announcers during this time and Padre Talk hosts included Hank Bauer, Kevin Kernan, Mark Grant and Randy Jones.

KFMB-AM was also the radio home of the San Diego State Aztecs (1972-1985, 1997-2000) and the San Diego Chargers (1997 – 2004).

Since 1995, KFMB-AM has presented numerous high profile syndicated talk shows including: Dr. Laura Schlesinger, Art Bell, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Michael Savage, Mark Levin, Dave Ramsey and Glenn Beck.

In 2001 Rick Roberts joined the KFMB-AM line up and remained a fixture on the station for the next decade. In recent years KFMB-AM has added local host Mike Slater (2011), morning show hosts Armstrong & Getty (2013), and local host Brett Winterble (2015).
